PSA: Easter is low season next year at Bonnet Creek and the Standard window opened today

I just wanted to post a PSA for anyone looking to use their points at a Disney or Universal area resort next year. The week before and after Easter in ‘25 is low season for Club Wyndham Bonnet Creek. It’s a great deal if you have points, just 112,000 for a 2 bedroom deluxe, 175,000 for a 2 bedroom presidential, etc. The Standard Reservation Window just opened today and right now every suite type is still available except for 4 bedroom units. I booked my two bedroom presidential reserve this morning.

Wyndham doesn’t adjust its points charts pretty much ever. It’s technically possible, but there’s some sort of laborious process to it. (See the points required Thanksgiving week every year at Bonnet Creek as an example of something that Wyndham would have changed years ago if they easily could.)

I wonder the same. I feel like our spring break is silly late, and it’s been the first full week of April for the last few years (so in 2025, the week ending in Palm Sunday). Sometimes it coincides with Easter on one end, sometimes (like next year) not. And then my kid finishes school 5 weeks later.

I know with my kids school district when Easter is in March- our Spring Break is aligned to that week. But anytime its in April it is not. We get Good Friday off and that's it.

Our school system including the community college which follows the same system as the county, matches Easter. When Easter is early It is Good Friday and then the entire following week. When Easter is late, it is the week before Easter, through Easter Monday. It is simply referred to as Spring break with no mention of the religious holiday. They have been doing it that way for the last 50 years with the exception of the late 70's when they went to a February break and called it Energy Conservation week. School ends around flag day here so still almost 2 months of school.

Spring break used to align with semesters' end. I was surprised the school district our kids went to changed to the first full week of April for break. It used to be the 3rd week of March.

U. Michigan's is usually week 8 or 9---we have one of the very earliest breaks, but we are also done by the end of April or the very beginning of May. Every so often the students complain about that, because when they go to e.g. Cancun pretty much everyone else there is also from U. Michigan, which complicates the whole "Let's have a short-term fling that we know can't last beyond this week" thing.

K-12 schools in Michigan each follow a common calendar that is set by the county for the Winter and Spring breaks. The counties around me all more or less have the week starting the Monday in March falling between the 24th and the 30th. They are not tied to Easter.

No they don't. WBC is an absolute screaming deal every year for Thanksgiving, and some years for Easter.

My area of NY state always has the Friday before Easter through the week after Easter, regardless of when Easter itself falls.

In Coastal Virginia public schools are starting before Labor Day and spring breaks and Easter closing are set by each school district.

Easter breaks and Spring breaks are normally prime time because families are able to travel together. IMO.

In many districts on Long Island, the spring break is during Passover week. If Easter falls around then, it's great. If not, they get Good Friday and maybe Easter Monday or Holy Thursday (especially if there were no snow days that winter).

Note that April 18-20 is an Owner Priority period.
