Has anyone ever heard of Progressive Transfer llc? They have contacted me and I am going to a meeting. Want to know anything about them. There are not complaints online for them.

My best guess is that they are going to tell you that your timeshare is worthless, that it will be a burden to your children, and that they can get you out of paying future maintenance fees.

Don't fall for it. Never, never, never pay anyone anything upfront to sell your timeshare. Once they have your money, they have no incentive to do anything for you. Any honest broker will take his fee from the sale proceeds.

Are you meeting with them to get out of your timeshare?

There is no legal way to *dump a timeshare. Most of these companies us illegal or fraudulent methods, and may not get your out of your contract at all.

Here is one scenario: Viking Ship Company

-You pay a high fee, to get the deed taken out of you name.

-The Viking Ship Company transfers your deed to a dummy company, with the intention of abandoning the deed.

-When your resort receives the new deed in they refuse to accept the transfer, because they recognize that this is an attempt to defraud the resort.

-That means that you still own the timeshare, and you lost the money you paid to transfer it out of your name.

*Please see Ron's excellent post below listing legal ways to divest yourself of a timeshare.

There are no positive reviews for them either. I don't know if they are a new company or what. Please give me any information you may have. Thanks

.

Really????

No way to dump a timeshare?

How about advertise it on tug and either sell it or give it away

Maybe hire a broker and have them find a buyer?

How about contact the hoa. Perhaps they will take it back

At least one developer is taking back their product

My guess is that the company referenced by the op is using a Viking ship to dispose of the timeshares they take in. But that doesn't mean there are no legitimate ways to dispose of a timeshare

That's one of the lines used by the fraudulent timeshare liquidation companies. That say there is no market so they can justify their high fees

Hi Ron - I'm so sorry if I confused you.

I thought it was clear that I was referring specifically to the OP's question, and not to all possible options for legally divesting oneself of a timeshare.

Thank you for your informative post, and thank you for not supporting the Viking Ship Company!

Happy Holidays! :hi:

Hi everyone
I went to the meeting for progressive transfers llc. They did try to get money out of me. Saying in 90 to 180 days they would get Kings Creek Plantation to take back the timeshare for $2500 and I pay the maintenance fees for 2016 and the closing of $745. And in 90 to 180 days I will not longer own the timeshare. I said no I didn't trust them and the guy said he would give me his SS# and drivers license and if he did not do what he promised I would get my money back. I still walked out.
