I am having a terrible time with the RCI website. It takes a long time to load the next page, or just doesn't do it at all--or, 2 days ago, gave me an option for a trade (one I wanted!), and when I clicked, it wouldn't load. Of course, when I got the website to work, the week was GONE. I am using fast connections--a DSL line at home and a T1 line at work. The problem is not on my end. What is the problem??? And when is RCI going to fix their IT problems (this isn't the first meltdown--it seems to be chronic). It seems that the site works less often than it doesn't. For the amount of time we need to search, I would hope that a more reliable, sophisticated program would be used. When will this be offerred?

I am having the same problem. Now I can't get into RCI at all. I also lost a week that I wanted because when I was able to log on this AM, after the list of 41 resorts came up for area and time frame I was looking for, no matter which one I clicked on all I got was a blank page. Then got the error message that my session had timed out? after only 5 minutes all of which was spent waiting for the RCI site to load. I also have fast DSL.

I called because I really wanted the week. RCI Rep said that he could not see the resort/week even though I was looking at it and proceded to tell me that the resort/area never shows up on line that it has a waiting list. I told him the resort/area has shown up three times this week. His response was well someone else must have grabbed it or there is an error in the system. DUH! this is why I called. And someone else can grab it when all I get is a blank page. I had also space banked my two 2006 weeks on 12/28/05 online, but they were not showing up. He said he did not show any record of the weeks being banked and went ahead and banked them for me.

Something is dreadfully wrong with RCI's system.

I had several misc problems today as well. Most cleared up after a few tries.

The one you might not know about, however, came when searching Extra Vacations in my Points account. If you select the drop down December 2006 and select an area (I chose Florida/Western & Central) you get an error that your search dates must be between 1/1/2006 and 12/31/2006.

I have also been having problems with their site. I have not been able to access my account or search since the day before yesterday. This is very frustrating.

I sure hope RCI fixes the glitches soon or they may have a mutiny! :rolleyes:

Suffice it to say that a significant number of TUGgers are having problems with the RCI site.

Please do not post additional comments in this thread. Doing so delays getting a response from Madge, since she responds to the oldest threads first, based on the last post in the thread!

Those wishing to discuss this issue should do so in this related thread or another one on the Exchanging forum.

When you view a unit online, it is temporarily invisible to our Guides. When you click on something else or go to a different page, the unit will again be visible. This safeguard is in place so that you won't be viewing a unit, try to confirm it, and get a message that the unit is no longer available. This happens to Guides unless they place units on hold. Sorry to hear that our Guide didn't realize what was happening.
