Hi!

I researched this issue about a month ago and found a couple of related older threads here. AwayWeGo had a lot of good advice on the subject. I want to add family members as additional users to my RCI Points account. These are the threads I referred to:

http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31943
http://www.tugbbs.com/forums/showthread.php?t=111562

I faxed a letter to RCI last month requesting to add my husband and three adult children as additional users on my account. Today I received the following letter from RCI. (it was all in caps, lol) :
--------
Dear RCI Points Member:

Thank you for contacting us regarding adding a joint owner(s) to your RCI Points Membership.

Joint owners must also be co-owners of the property listed on the points membership. To add joint owners to your RCI Points Account, we require the signatures of both primary members and a copy of the purchase agreement (PA) or the deed which lists the intended joint members as owners. Please note there is a maximum of two primary and five joint members.

You can fax this letter with the appropriate signatures and the deed or purchase agreement to: 317-805-9335. Or you can mail copies to:
RCI/ATTN: Customer Service
9998 N Michigan Rd
Carmel, IN 46032

Primary Member #1__________________________
Primary Member #2__________________________

Please print names of joint owners to be added:
___________
__________
__________
We look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,
RCI

I searched online for a form that might mention additional users. This is what I found:
http://www.rci.com/docs/KnowledgeBase/Documents/en_US/RCI_Pts_Mem_trans_agrmt_1.pdf

It's a form related to transferring a Points ownership, but does mention additional owners (Section H). This is what it says:

(Additional owners’ names must appear on the deed to the ownership or similar document.) The maximum number of Additional Owners on each RCI Points membership is five (5) persons. Additional Owners will be serviced on the account but will not receive RCI Points materials or mailings.
-----------
I don't know what to do now. I know that people have had luck with this in the past, but I'm wondering if the policy may have changed.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. :)
Thank you!

Its possible that they misinterpreted your request.
You could explain that you are not asking to add "joint users" (as co-owners), as they seem to think, just authorized or additional users (like on a credit card). But you may need to slog thru the terms of use to find the appropriate clause to quote back to them.

I got the same response as the OP and I think I made my intent pretty clear. Maybe they've tightened up on the rules. If someone discovers otherwise, let me know and I'll try again.

I wanted to add my married daughter to the account to avoid a guest certificate. She is co-owner of one of our Weeks weeks, but not the Points units.

All I had to do to add my daughter as an additional user to my account was fax a letter requesting that this be done and both of us signed the letter. I was told that in order to remove her we have to write another letter and again both have to sign. I believe you can add 5 additional names. This was a few years ago and at first they told me exactly what they told the OP but after a few phone calls it was straightened out. Try faxing the letter (not an e-mail) and mailing the letter.

Thanks for the responses.

My initial contact was made via fax, with all of the signatures on the request. I will try calling to see what happens. I'll post my results. :)
