LOL
this is a $99 printer ........ for $93 o_O
Correct, not using Gizmodo's link in their fraudulent article it is on Amazon for said $99. Gizmodo must be run by TS salespeople.

Do you really need to print anything in 2024?

Absolutely! As an editor and proofreader, I need hard copies to read to catch more mistakes than working on the screen. Plus I print a lot of other stuff too.
On old fax paper rolls like this thing?

Also, when reorganization is needed, printed works much better for doing markups. With a printed document the markups it's much easier to track what has been moved where and examine how the relocations affect the overall narrative. What seems to make sense in a local context often doesn't fit the overall document flow. Which then means there is something in the larger document structure that needs to get worked out. That kind of change is again easier to do you when you can examine large portions of the document at once.

Back in the day, when I was traveling and needed to get something printed, I would connect the room phone line to the fax/modem port on my computer, and then send myself a fax using the hotel fax machine.
