If it's an RCI or II exchange, rentals are not allowed. It's done all the time but it's a violation of the exchange companies rules
As far as how much to charge; check the competition and price yours on the low side to get it rented

As Ron stated that's what we did. Ours is a high demand week/location, in looking at comparables, and because it is a high demand resort(Sun set Harbor) we were able to recoup MF's and a little extra.
