I am looking for somewhere to go this weekend (Sunday, Monday & Tuesday). I put in a search for 3 star for either the Hershey Pa or Lancaster Pa area...
has anyone ever been disappointed with a 3 star accomodation through Priceline?
Thanks for any input

It depends on the locale. In small towns or suburban locations I've done a lot of 3* and 2-1/2*. Courtyard by Marriott and Fairfield Inn, for example, usually comes up at 2-1/2* and most of those are fine facilities. Inside major urban areas I'm more cautious about bidding at that end of the spectrum.

You can also go to www.biddingfortravel.com and see what hotels have been reported as Priceline winners in various locales. That will often give you a good idea of what you are likely to get. If you know the area you can decide if those accommodations are satisfactory.

on the website that steve listed there is a hotel list for each area grouped by zone & stars at the top of the board for each city.

i am confused by your statement of "I put in a search for 3 star for either the Hershey Pa or Lancaster Pa area" did you place a bid? because you usually get an immediate response - ck. your email.

I've only been disappointed once. I got a Days Inn that even looked scary on their website, never mind the reviews I found on others. I called Priceline and explained that as a woman traveling with two kids (Dh couldn't join us) I was VERY uncomfortable staying there. At first, they gave me the party line, but a few days later I received a call saying they'd checked out the property and decided to reduce it to a 1 star and thus would refund my money "just this once."
