Normally when traveling we get to completely ignore what is going on in the outside world, however HGVC at Trump Vegas does require some following as President Trump does stay at the property when he overnights in Vegas and that means that timeshare owners can have their stay impacted by Presidential plans as the arrival experience is very different when the President is spending the night. Fashion Show drive is closed to the public and to access the hotel your vehicle must arrive from Las Vegas Boulevard. There is a tent where they ask you to turn off the vehicle and open the trunk to allow the dogs to sniff around to ensure no explosives. Then you will be weaving between barriers to approach the hotel, and see that all ground level parking for the Macy's, Nordstrom, and Dillards is closed and empty. Then when arriving at the hotel, there is a full TSA style checkpoint operated by the Secret Service inside the lobby where you and your bags are screened. Be prepared for secret service to rummage through your bags. When leaving there is one door dedicated to the exit. Even with this security, you can freely walk across to the Nordstrom entrance, and pedestrians are allowed on the other side of Fashion Show Drive. When departing in a vehicle you are directed to Sammy Davis Jr Drive.
