I have Medicare Part D "credible coverage." That means I have other insurance which is as good or better than Part D. Anyway, one of my melds recently dropped off the formulary. My mail order far act, OptumRx then wanted $87. For a 90 day supply. CVS filled the prescription for $62,

It really does pay to shop around.

I tried GoodRx a few months ago for a prescription that was normally $50 for me. The web site gave me coupons for several local pharmacies for less than $10. Great! So I checked w/ all of those local pharmacies they listed -- not one would take GoodRx coupons.

If it works, great. But don't count on it.

If you really want to save money buy your drugs from Canada through the mail. Pills that would have cost $5 each here were $.80 each from a Canadian pharmacy.

I have used GoodRX many times for my eye drops (latanaprost) at CVS. They not only took the GoodRX coupon without question but put in into their system so that I get the lower price for refills. Price they charge me is $16.06 for a drug that costs a lot more every place else.

I call around to the 3-4 local pharmacies for price if given an expensive Rx. So far, nobody has beaten Costco- and you don't have to be a member.

Fortunately, I'm not taking any prescription meds now, and nothing beats not needing a pharmacy!
