Hi. We're usually in Acapulco for NYE, but for 2009 looking at MP Riviera. Has anyone been there during week 52? Is the pool cool, or is one of them heated. We love the MP Acapulco, but tooooo many people as the years have gone by are there during weeks 51 and 52. Like in a sardine can.

And what about the ocean water? Is it cool or out-right cold? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Pool will be nice and warm

The MP pools are heated. In my experience, the pool(s) farther away from the beach are the warmest (may be where the heater is), and as you get closer to the beach they get a little cooler.

We go in January each year and the air temp can get a little cooler in the evening. However, the pool is so nice and warm that swimming in the evenings feels great.

Are you referring to the shared pools that are available to both the Grand Mayan and Mayan Palace guests? I am going to be staying at the Grand Mayan over Thanksgiving, and was wondering if the pools we will have access to are heated.

Thanks!

I know what you mean about the cold pools in PV at the MP in March. Almost not bearable last time we were there during March.

The pools are not heated at any MP that is why they get cold when refilled or further north say PV or NV. There is no way to heat such a shallow large surfface area pool. We were in CUN last Thanksgiving and New Years and the pools were fine both times. We have never been to CUN and had the pool be cold.
