Points for sitting in presentations

I have had a few presentations in the last few weeks (I now have my second vaccine shot so I feel safer). I managed to get 100K honors points for a Hilton "update" and then I got two different presentations, one from Worldmark and one from Wyndham totaling 43K points.

As you may recall, I did a video for how to get free stays (here). Here I am at the end of April for the year for the points for doing tours;

Hilton Goal for one year 150,000, achieved 100,000 so far with a tour scheduled for a minimum of 60,000
Worldmark/Wyndham goal for one year was 90,000. Thus far I have gotten 73,000 (one tour early in the year)
Marriott Goal for one year was 40,000, achieved 0 thus far (but expect some on my trips in the next few months)

My thinking is that as the pandemic lessens (I am feeling optimistic), the timeshare companies are trying to boost sales and are offering more incentives... I should note, that thus far I have only been listening... I think my next purchase will be a resale if I decide to upgrade, but I am listening to the companies... Has anyone been successful upgrading to developer points after buying after market.... Not sure if this is even important, but it would be good to know.

I prefer to keep my sanity (such as it is) and avoid the paper chase.

I have not personally upgraded a resale purchase. But in the past i have heard of HGV allowing people to "upgrade" / trade there resale purchases in towards a new purchase. In many cases they would even credit you for price the the original purchaser paid. I know that as only certain resorts are eligible, I think they need to HGV developed, not one of the resorts developed by a 3rd party. But those rules apply to full developer purchases as well. If you own a resort developed by a 3rd party, i think you can only trade that back for the same resort or perhaps a different resort from the same developer.

That is good information to know... I will look to buy on the resale market next year (2022).

We had no invite for a presentation at Worldmark/Wyndham Taos. I wonder if a.) it was due to strict Covid protocols in NM or b.) the front desk clerk noted my age on my I.D. and decided we were of a certain age that suggested a no-sale or c.) were noted to have attended and rejected buying at a Wyndham resort in the past.

So far at 66 I have not been rejected. But I suspect that may change at some point. I am taking the points as long as I can. But New Mexico is more strict. Also some locations don’t have sales staff like Marina Dunes.
