I got the email this morning from Wyndham. Are they cancelling fees for points deposit, pushing our 2020 usage into 2021? I did not see that topic mentioned. I tried to do it as a test on my smart phone but no luck. Thanks in advance!

I called Wyndham and they said that the $39 online and $49 phone fee still applies when you push your points out. As a non VIP, I have until 3-31 to do this, so I did it today after cancelling our August vacation. I think that it’s pointless to try to travel before fall/winter, if then.

I agree with your assessment of when travel might start back up.

I am very puzzled at the lack of availability in Florida and Myrtle Beach for the weeks before and after Easter. There is next to nothing available in the entire State of Florida so it looks like I'm wrong. I can't imagine going to a resort in the Orlando area where theme parks are closed and resort facilities like pools, hot tubs, fitness centers, etc., are closed. Restaurants are closed or only doing carry-out. It sounds like a truly crummy vacation. Why go?

Yet, I have a 4BR Presidential unit starting April 11 that was rented back in January for a premium price. The rental was done through a broker who contacted me. I sent Wyndham's resort update last night offering to refund all but my cash outlays ($200). The refund would be over $3,000. I haven't received an answer. What is there to think about?

I have two other reservations in Myrtle Beach, again rented some time ago. I offered refunds to both, the same deal -- I would deduct my legitimate selling expenses. Okay, I get Myrtle Beach. No matter what, there's the Atlantic Ocean. (They don't close that. Do they??)

Florida reservation availability improved very late Tuesday night.

But that’s going to change if the March 18 email policy posted (no resort check ins thru April 1 / April 18 at listed locations) either get extended out or apply across the board to all Wyndham properties.

Stay safe!

Everything is blacked out now through April 18th, as far as I can tell. No new reservations and either encouraging people to cancel or as policy cancelling. I'm not sure why most of the effected resorts listed are cancelling any reservations starting on or before April 18th. Orlando and Glacier Canyon are only cancelling if before April 1st - I wondered if that is a typo and expect to see that extend to the April 18th date at any time.

My brother was stranded in Nashville (RV transmission went out). He snowbirds in Florida and was heading home. He was staying at the Wyndham in Nashville and I was day by day adding nights on, until they blacked out new reservations for the rest of the month :-(
