Point rental success

Just wanted to post about a recent point rental success. My parents are celebrating their 50th aniversary over the labor day weekend, so we decided to look for a place the whole family could stay together for 3 nights. I didn't have enough DVC points to book a 3 bedroom at Aulani, so I started looking into a 3 bedroom at MKO. GregT was able to confirm that the room was available for the dates I wanted. I used Greg's rental site and had multiple replies from people with points to rent. Ultimatly I got a good deal from another long time Tugger. So far everything worked out great, I got the ressie I wanted and he was able to offload some points for cash.

Thanks Greg for hosting the site, so we can all take advantage of this opportunity. There's no way I could have done this for my family if I had to rent a whole holiday week.

I'm really happy that this worked out for both of you. I believe that the points rental market will continue to develop and will be very robust, as with Disney and Worldmark (and potentially others that I am not aware of).

I remain curious if Marriott will one day limit the rental frequency (Disney you are only allowed one transfer per year -- either in or out, but not both). Since we appear to be a tiny tiny minority, I think it will take a awhile for this to flourish.

The ability to transfer points between users is very powerful, I hope TUGgers are able to explore the benefits. Thanks for posting your success story.
