Leaving Sat for the Pokeynose!! Yay, Here is what I'd like to do , am I missing anything?

Bushkill & the other water fall
Day trip to NYC (tour from the ts)
Day trip to Philly (tour from the ts)
Wolf Place (forgot the name)
Hot air Balloon Festival

Kelli wants to go to the Pocono Raceway and I want to go to Atlantic City .
Does anyone know if there is a junket from the Pokeynose?

If anyone is in the area the 11th thru the 18th and wants to get together let me know.

Bushkill Falls is wonderful - you might also enjoy the Delaware Water Gap, they do have a trolley tour that is very interesting.

The Poconos also have their own new casino that just opened last year - Mt Airy (?).
We really enjoy our day there.

Mt Airy Lodge is in Mt Pocono - which has RT 611 running thru it.

Wine tasting - several wineries. But PA law allows them to run a tasting room or two off-winery site. One is behind and off right of Friendly Ice Restr. in Tannerville and I think there is another tasting place in Stroudsburg on Rt 209. PA has a web site for all the wine producers.\

Ride the chair lift to the top of Camelback and see the Fall colors. Big outlet mall on the way to Camelback. I80 at Rt 715 exit. Rt 715 EXIT is 1/2 mile from RT 611.

Racetrack (NASCAR) is on Rt 115 going south from RT 904 (Lake Harmony. Rt 115 intersects RT 611 which is old Exit 35 off PA Turnpike (where JAck Frost Ski area is).

Down either the turnpike to old Exit 34 is Jim Thorpe, PA. OR south on RT 115 then South on RT 209 is ==> Great little town with Jim Thorpe grave (minor thing), but has old jail with the ghost hand print of the Molly McGruirers (early union coal miners). Also has Asa Packer houses which are owned by the city and run tours. Asa Packer founded Lehigh University and his daughter left the houses, lock, stock and barrel but NOT the silver, to the town. Town didn't know what to do with them, so they padlocked them for 50+ years. So, not a re-creation - actual stuff (bank still has the silver).;) Has a old hotel with lunch and dinner (and a few other eating spots). Has some railroad loop tour too.

Streamtown USA - National Park up in Scranton ==> go there.

Has a Coal mine tour (go down 350 ft) up that way too -- was run by a county up there (I think Carbondale).

Sorta of a PT resident there.

Shaggy, have a great time on your trip. The Wolf thing is called Lakota. The Water Gap Trolley tour is nice if you like to know some history of the area. It's not a long tour (about 1 hour) and very close to the resort.

Dorney Park is in the Allentown/Bethelem area - PA turnpike exit 2 nd after the Tunnel going north (I-78). From the Poconos Speedway about 35-45 miles.

Shaggy-theres also a place called Great Wolf Lodge which is a water park, it is near Tannersville. That could be a Wolf thing too-better ways to spend your time though in other suggestions listed before.

You are going a great time of year. If you are into it there is some really nice hiking in the area. My wife and I went over 5 years ago and I don't remember the particular trails we followed by there are many hiking trails througout the area.

Several places have little booklets with places to see and things to do. See if there is a chamber near you also. The resort should have booklets also. Enjoy the fall leaves. BOBCAT

Also, Crystal Caves is down by Allentown too.

Skip Atlantic City - about 4 hours each way. Go to Hershey Park - chocolate place ... and amusement park.

AC is 3 hours away. Hershey/Lancaster over 2 hours. Dorney Park is about an hour but you wouldn't take the Turnpike. They can give you directions at the resort.

I think you have to be staying at Great Wolf Lodge to use the waterpark.

The driving time to AC, Dorney etc depends on where you are staying. There could be one-two hours difference depending on where you are coming from.

She's staying at Shawnee.

Plenty to do in that area. Not far from Bushkill falls and as mentioned about an hour from Dorney.

Hey Shaggy if you need any restaurant recommendations shoot me an email. I have a vacation place in Bushkill and are there a couple times a month.

Its about 1 hour from the George Washington Bridge to the Delaware Water Gap where the Pocono region begins.
