Can someone explain how I would use my points to reserve something off season in Hawaii.....mid January. I understand better trading a week for a week, but how does this work. If I want to travel next January, do I give them a set number of points and they give me a week? If it iffy if they would get a unit if I give them points? Just a basic guide would be so helpful.

(I see the TDI chart in the book, and the pages say 13, and that X number of points are needed for a specific TDI, but I can't figure out where a number is assigned)

II uses a proprietary method to assign TDI. They indicate that it is based on supply and demand in a region. The. Using the two charts, it determines how many points will be needed for any given stay in whatever size of unit you desire.

I don't believe you can use Marriott points to exchange into a Marriott you have to do it through Marriott. DC Trust points can exchange for non Marriott timeshares through II. I am not even sure you can use converted legacy week points to exchange through II but I am not sure about that.

You can use elected DC points to trade through II, but you are right, you can't use them to trade in to other Marriott properties. Need to go through Marriott DC for that.

Why would you want to trade DC points in II anyway? It seems such a wasteful thing to do. It would be better to buy an II Getaway in my opinion.
