Playa Grande-Identical Timeshares-2 different maintenance fees

I own 2 rooms for week 52 in the same building at Playa Grande. Both rooms are exactly the same layout - 1 bedroom 2 baths. I am being billed two different maintenance fee rates for the two room - $794.95 and $824.95. The company that they use for processing the billing resortcom is in California. Is this legal in California? Has anyone else seen this?

I don't know if this is the case but many Mexican TS don't necessarily relate to a specific budget. Some have a contract "membership fee" stated in the purchase contract and then have an annual contracted increase in fees. Different contracts may be based on the start date of the contract. Other contracts may have certain limits on the annual increase while others may not.

(Many) Mexican timeshares are considered RTU memberships.

It's best to call resortcom who does their billing but the difference is probably their bogus charity or insurance which appears in the total but is optional. I'm sure they will just say it's a billing format error. The same as they told me the last 5 years!
Call them before paying any amount.
As already stated some resorts have different starting points and different maximum annual increases but to my knowledge PG does not.

As per post #2, it is fairly common for two different contracts for identical unit configurations to have different maintenance fees. Normally this is due to different origination years of the contract. (Meaning they may have adjusted base maintenance fees upwards in later years.)

But it would still make sense to get confirmation directly from the resort that this is the case.

Just for the record, not all timeshares in Mexico are RTU. One of mine is and the other is not.

^ ^ ^ What Oldbuyer said. ^ ^ ^ Solmar group has been adding optional fees for a donation to their "charity" and insurance program to MF bills, so you need to break them out, and decide for yourself if you want to pay for them. I have two fixed weeks in a 1BR/2BA oceanfront in Bldg A, and pay the same amount for each week.
