Hi

We have an exchange into a 2 bedroom unit (max 8/ pri 6)at Playa Grande in Cabo in early Dec 2022. Some questions:

1. How are the units? What can we expect as an exchanger?
2. We DON'T want to do a presentation. How persistent are they?
3. Are there any major grocery stores within walking distance other than Oxxo?
4. Is the bus (Ruta del desierto?) still running from the airport to downtown Cabo? Is it recommended? How much is the fare? Other relatively inexpensive options?
5. Is the resort within walking distance to the marina?

Thanks!

We had an RCI exchange there last year. We got a beautiful unit in the new section with a view of the marina. There is a nice pool up there.

They weren’t persistent regarding a presentation.

No major stores near. There is a small market on property. We did AI for three days and ate in town the rest of the time.

Don’t know about the bus but the marina is an easy walk. We loved it there and would return in a heartbeat.

Just returned from a week in Playa Grande and want to report a similar experience as buzglyd.

We were in the "Ridge" section overlooking the Marina. Beautiful, large resort with excellent beach (non-swimmable), incredible sunrises and sunsets, friendly staff and very reasonable food in the bar/lounge (and good quality and service when we ate there once). There was no pressure at all to sign up for a presentation which was a pleasant surprise. We walked to the marina pretty much every day and enjoyed it. The onsite store is also very reasonable. There is an Oxxo 10 minute walk downhill from the resort which carries a lot of things. There is a Chedraui at the Paraiso mall in the marina, a 20 minute walk from the resort or a 14 peso ride in a local bus (5 minutes ride) if you're adventurous! There is a food court at the mall as well. We did not do AI. We cooked pretty much everyday with fresh ingredients and enjoyed meals on the balcony overlooking the marina. Lastly, the bus from the airport (Ruta del desierto) goes upto the Paraiso mall and back. We took Uber to and from the airport. Tripadvisor Cabo forum has a lot of good info on transportation etc. The resort next door (Santos I think) has a baby turtle released in the water (days/timing varies depending on eggs hatching) which was very cool. There is an upscale restaurant with spectacular setting at the far end of the beach (El Farallon) - we walked there but didn't eat there. There are some free activities at the resort everyday such as stretching on the beach, volleyball, etc.

Some things to be mindful of - Ridge is a fair distance from the front lobby (with some steep slopes) so if you have mobility issues, you'll need help getting there. We enjoyed it because we walked a lot during our week just going from our unit to the beach! It was very loud with music blaring all night long on the weekends and sea lion noises throughout day and night. We slept ok most nights however because we were tired due to all the walking!

Overall it was an excellent exchange and we can't wait to go back in 4 years!
