Hey!

Me again. Points deposited and ready to roll. I'd like some advice on where to go.

We are thinking of going to Lake Tahoe in May. Is one a lot better than the other (Grand v Timber)? We are leaning towards Timber because of a 3rd bedroom option. How is the weather normally about that time? Is there plenty to do? I know it's more for Summer or Winter but I'm guessing there's hiking and other things to do. We have 3 kids 4 and under.

If we don't do Tahoe we thought about Phoenix. Looks a lot more kid friendly and I know it'll be nice and warm. This would be ideal but my wife is from Chico, CA and doing Tahoe would let us see family.

2nd thing is we are thinking Caribbean in Sept. First, in Aruba is one much better than the other? I see availability for both but would love to hear your thoughts. And I feel like Aruba is more talked about than St Thomas and St Kitts. What is your fav between the 3? Oh and I can't search flights that far out yet is one airport a lot more to fly into than the other?

Thanks in advance. I was about to ask how to join but I just saw it in the corner. Should be a member in a few minutes

May in Tahoe can be very cool - we've had snow over Memorial Day weekend more than once. I would wait until you can go in July or August.

Please note that after you pay your membership fee, you will get an email with instructions about how to change your status to "member." This is something you have to do yourself, for it to show up under your name.

If you use Paypal, it takes a little longer to get a response, because a human has to process Paypal payments.

Great! I just paid (with a C.C) and was wondering how I get this "guest" label off of here :)

For Tahoe - I would choose Timber Lodge over Grand Residence. Grand Residence charges $20+ a day for parking. Parking is free at Timber Lodge. Both are in the same great location.

For Aruba - I would choose Surf Club. We love the lazy river at the Surf Club. The Ocean Club is right next door and it would be our 2nd choice in Aruba.

Have a good time! :)

Flight wise, Aruba is likely cheapest with more options, St. Thomas next, and most post that airfare to St. Kitts still remains fairly pricey.

For September, I would definitely choose Aruba over St. Thomas and St Kitts. September is the peak of the hurricane season and Aruba is out of the hurricane belt. St Thomas and St Kitts are right in the middle of the hurricane belt. While odds are statistically low that a hurricane with threaten St Thomas or St Kitts in your specific week in any given year, the risk is higher there than in Aruba where it is almost zero. Hurricanes approach Aruba only about once every decade or two.

Just a reminder on Aruba. The Surf Club lazy river will be closed next Sept. They are also scheduled to do some renovations to the buildings at the same time. The details are on the Surf Club home page.
