Vancouver pics and videos

Just run the slideshow by clicking on the first picture and then the 3 vertical dots and selecting slideshow. If a video in the slideshow hangs loading or you want to skip a video just hit the forward arrow in the slideshow. You can always just click on it in the album to watch it with possibly having to refresh the browser to kick the video to start if it doesn't

There were so many more places on the Highway 99 between Vancouver and Squamish/Whistler I did not get to, as well as hiking I wanted to do but didn't. Will just have to go back again.
Vancouver is such a neat city. I was amazed at the shear amount of pedestrian and city bicycle traffic that was there all the time. And if you violated any rules, pedestrians and bicyclers had no problem voicing their anger at you. I really had to be careful as I rented a car and pretty much drove everywhere and pretty much depended on google maps to get me everywhere which did work well. Saw one car making a right turn across a bicycle lane and apparently they didn't see a bicycler coming up along their right hand side and cut the bicycler off, and the bicycler loudly yelled at them.
We did walk from Rosedale on Robson to False Creek for the ferry ride to Granville island, but pretty much used the car to get everywhere else unless it was a close by restaurant. Parking rates where expensive when we parked anywhere we went but I knew that would be the compromise for having the flexibility of a car.

In my opinion, Vancouver is the most scenic major city in western North America.

We love Vancouver, B.C. We always take our Bikes. The Worldmark is across the Street from the Wall Center. Once we started to ride our Bikes Clockwise around the outer perimeter of Stanley Park. We were quickly buy politely stopped and told you could only ride Counter Clockwise. So we cut across the neck to do it correctly. I frequently ride north on Hornby to Canada Place and then west to Stanley. One time Patti got mad at me. Obvious tourists from a Cruise Ship were walking in the Bike Lane and not in the Pedistrian Lane. I stopped and yelled at a bunch of them to stay out of the Bike Lane. "Oh and if you can not Read Canadian there are pictures on the cement/ pavement."

Unless we are going to the UBC area or Burnaby the car stays in the garage. Sometimes we take the person small Ferry across False Creek. But we also walk or Bike all the way around. We walk all around Stanley Park, Gastown, China Town, to Costco, etc. I think out longest day of walking was about 15 miles.

The bike ride from downtown to UBC is actually quite palatable now since Point Grey Road was converted to a bike lane. It’s safer now and a beautiful ride along the beach.

For those who love Vancouver, I’d suggest a trip to Victoria. It’s like Vancouver from 20 years ago and even more bike friendly.
