We are heading to Phuket today, and I wonder if someone can recommend us any resort activity or Phuket tour? I heard that in-room BBQ is awesome and worthy. Thanks for your input in advance. :cheer:

Best.

Hi, you will enjoy your stay at Phuket.
I would say it is one of the best Marriott's TS.
We did in room BBQ, but were not impressed. May be it would work for one time experience, but we would prefer to go out for traditional Thai restaurants.
Here are some recommendations: Kin Dee, Nayang Beach restaurants and Hotel restaurants (so more expensive).
And the beach!!!

Hi,
It depends on your party (ages) a bit but I would recommend the John Gray sea canoe full day trip. I hardly ever do tours but this was one i would do again. The bike ride with JW hotel is good.
Patong beach is only worth a trip if you have teenagers who want fake designer bags etc but when we were last there it seemed more down market than ever.
The abalone farm is the worst trip we ever did (admittedly we did drive ourselves but that wasn't the bad bit) but we still laugh about it now becuase it was so bad. It was a shack on a deserted beach which had cows on it and in the restaurant the whole menu was abalone cooked in lots of different ways.
I'm sure there are other threads on this from a year or so ago.

We are just coming to the end of our stay here at PBC. We depart on Tuesday 7th Feb.

I can also recommend Kin Dee - a touch of local colour and authentic Phuket food. It is an experience and we have eaten there 3 or 4 times whilst here. Also Nai Yang Beach which is just the other side of the airport from mai Khao - about 20 mins in a car. I would personnally recommend Rottcharin as a place to eat. Also Batik.

Tours can be arranged at the activites desk in the JW Marriott.

Shopping for food and drink - we use the new Tesco Lotus in Thalang - again about 20 minues by car. Very good for alcohol - not so good for food. For food I would recommend the supermarket in central Festival - has a very good supply of international foods as well as Thai food.

Finally there is a national scarcity of Tonic water in Thailand - so if you drink Gin and Tonic - forget it - the production plant in Thailand was destroyed in the floods. Even the hotels have no tonic.
