Slightly misleading headline because they are requesting and addendum to the Emergency Use Authorization they have for ages 16+ so that it can include 12+. They are not asking for true "FDA clearance" (or FDA approval) for ages 12 and up yet. That probably won't be available until Fall.

Who knows exactly what this will mean yet? States will likely choose different routes where some simply allow kids to go to vax centers and get vaccinated like adults, other states might want doctors notes or something. Either way it's likely that kids 12 and up will have some level of access to vaccines before school starts back up in the Fall.
