It looks like the exchange rate has recently gotten as high as 17:1

Have recent travelers to Mexican timeshares noticed whether resorts are increasing prices (in pesos) to maintain their dollar-based revenues? Might we see maintenance fees for Mexican resorts go down since we pay in dollars?

Our resorts always ask us for MF in USD.

Generally the resorts do not change their prices to reflect the $ to peso ratio, but may be starting if it continues to be the current rates. But, they would have to spend $ to print new menus, so they may wait it our. We bought a bunch of pesos in June when it was right at 15.75 to16:1 for our November vacation thinking the ratio would surely drop, but the 17:1 is much better. You just never know.

At least we have all the pesos we need for a 3 week vacation at a rate much better than we had last year in November.

It's great if you're from the US of A, but for Canadians our $ gives us about 12 pesos. It's much the same as it was last year when travelling to Mexico, but $500 US MFs cost us more like $720 CAD. :wall:

Senior perks for Mexico timeshare owners

Years ago, some of the large Mexican timeshare companies had a policy that allowed owners to discontinue paying annual maintenance fees once they reached their 65th birthday.

Does any resort have a provision like that nowadays?
