I have seen nesting huts high up on the Throgs Neck Bridge. Even saw one of those falcons snag a Pidgeon.
NYC has a wide variety of birds of prey.

We live in a suburb due east of Seattle and due west of Belly-View. A few years back while waiting for a stop light (corner of ICW and SE 28th St) we saw an initially unfamiliar large bird standing on the ground with its prey still squawking under its talons. After a few seconds, we realized it was a peregrine falcon. We opened the passenger window and looked at it. We must have been about ten feet away.
