Has anyone heard if Wyndham may be extending the Points Protected 24 hour Cancellation option into July? I have 2 reservations, 7/7 and 7/11, booked long ago for personal use. I had planned on cancelling the 7/7 reservation before all the COVID stuff happened but have sat on both reservations while I wait to see if one might eventually get cancelled. My travel is flexible, the desired arrival is 7/11 but the 7/7 could still work. I need to protect the 7/7 reservation while I wait to see if the 7/11 reservation gets cancelled.
I called the resort and they say cancellations are a Corporate activity. I called the Wyndham number and they can't give any guidance on those reservations regarding potential cancellation. I asked about putting Points Protection on the 7/7 reservation and was told to do that by EOB 6/22 (can't do that online). I'll gladly pay the $49 but if Wyndham is going to extend the 24 hour cancellation option without protection, I'd gladly pay it.
Anyone heard if the policy in place to 6/30 will be extended? Also, are reservations for July starting to be cancelled?
