So I just really got around to making reservations for my week 1 for 2013 and week 52 for 2012. Week 1 no issues. But I asked to change my week 52 for week 53 for this year since my arrival day of Sunday has a week 53 arrival. When I called I was told oh no that week is completely booked because other owners in phase 1 can book that week at 10-12 months out!--I politely said I don't think so--I think Starwood has set aside that week to rent--the reservation person kept insisting nicely that wasn't the case so I let it go and told her I would follow up with an e mail.
I immediately e mailed on Star Central explaining that when I bought that I wanted two weeks that would follow one another and was told/or read somewhere that week 52 owners could reserve week 53 if the week 53 had their same arrival day--which mine does this year. In any case I alluded to the fact that Starwood had likely set these aside to rent and that I would be willing to give up my week 52 for the week 53--reason is week 52 Sunday arrival this year is 12/23 and I want to be home for Christmas.
So today I get an email back changing the weeks for me and stating that inventory must have opened up since I called! Yeah right since yesterday--NOT!. So I guess they were willing to take back my week 52 for the week 53 figuring both are easy for them to rent.
So I am happy!
