So, at least peep will be able to pay for gas.

Speaking about inflation:
Board's Head lunch meat at my grocery (Publix)
increased from $11.99 to $13.99/lb. in a month!
I was shocked & dismayed, as I bought a pound.

Gas prices are going down. I paid $3.65 a couple days ago. That’s down from a high of $4.95 about 5-6 weeks ago here in St. Augustine.

We are down about the same. The good news is that oil prices fell last week so we should have a few weeks more of dropping gas prices. It will be interesting to see the economy moving forward with the inputs of jobs, inflation, and sentiment going forward.

And, as grocery and many other prices went up because of the increase in gas prices, will they also now start to come down? I’m not going to hold my breath.

Gas is $3.99 here, almost double what it was in Jan 2021. Food prices are still increasing rapidly. Salmon at Costco is now 13.99/lb vs $8.99 a year ago. Kirkland coffee is $15.99 vs 12.49 last year. People will now need to work two jobs to pay bills.

Change the definition of increasing and double and dropping and what entails a job, and we’re in good shape.

You're paying more for less product due to a not-so-new scheme called “shrinkflation.” This occurs when manufacturers shrink the contents of a product’s packaging but maintain the price point to offset the cost of inflation.

This is simply a cash grab by manufacturers. It’s just one of the ways companies cope with higher costs fueled by inflation, shortages and supply chain snarls. Companies realize they can’t supply the normal amount at the normal price and something’s got to give and someone has to pay more. Guess who.

Salaries are up too. I know teens in your city making $16.50 working fast food jobs. It’s a great time to look for another job. I did it and got a 40 percent raise.
