We are down about the same. The good news is that oil prices fell last week so we should have a few weeks more of dropping gas prices. It will be interesting to see the economy moving forward with the inputs of jobs, inflation, and sentiment going forward.Gas prices are going down. I paid $3.65 a couple days ago. That’s down from a high of $4.95 about 5-6 weeks ago here in St. Augustine.
And, as grocery and many other prices went up because of the increase in gas prices, will they also now start to come down? I’m not going to hold my breath. We are down about the same. Gas is $3.99 here, almost double what it was in Jan 2021. Food prices are still increasing rapidly. Salmon at Costco is now 13.99/lb vs $8.99 a year ago. Kirkland coffee is $15.99 vs 12.49 last year. People will now need to work two jobs to pay bills.
Prices are up in the grocery stores; but the items you are buying are being reduce in quanity, size & weigh.
Salaries are up too. I know teens in your city making $16.50 working fast food jobs. It’s a great time to look for another job. I did it and got a 40 percent raise.Gas is $3.99 here, almost double what it was in Jan 2021. Food prices are still increasing rapidly. Salmon at Costco is now 13.99/lb vs $8.99 a year ago.
