hi all,
it's the same story as many folks out there. Many years ago we bought a one bedroom Sedona Summit timeshare (resale) and now find we no longer will use it.
Even if I list it for $1.00 for someone to take it off my hands - how does the actual transfer work? I remember reading a long time ago on TUG about companies
that others recommended to transfer the deed.
Also I emailed Diamond Resorts to see if they would be interested in taking it back and am waiting to hear back from them.

Any advice/recommendations are greatly appreciated.:)

DRI has a deedback program, which I believe they call "Transitions". However, my understanding is that only developer-direct purchases are considered for eligibility.
You indicate having purchased resale, so I wouldn't be too optimistic about receiving a favorable response from DRI.

here's the reply I received from Diamond:

Eligibility Criteria

Relinquishment requests will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning each calendar year, and will be subject to an annual cap on approved relinquishment as determined by Diamond Resorts.

• Contract is in active status (CIR-ACT)

• No existing loan balance and current on payment of all assessed maintenance fees

• You must have clear and free title to the vacation ownership

• Diamond Resorts must be able to take possession of the owner’s usage right immediately

If approved, you will then be mailed paperwork in up to 60-90 days from your approval date. You will also have to pay a $1,000.00 processing fee per contract and send this along with the forms to the address listed. The fee and requirements can change at any time. But the amount of the fee during the time your contract was approved is the amount you will have to pay to have your request processed.

I just used LT Transfers this morning. Already have a signed contract on the way to the timeshare company.
