HI, been working on flights and tried to book with TAP from Newark.. however I wanted to have a connection from Hartford to Newark. I was told because its a different airline that COntinental ( for ex) does not have to honor the connection as they also fly to Lisbon ! As many times as the agent tried to book the flight, COnt. would not confirm the flight....:wave: I was more interested in the times of the connections I am making as well as the price which are similar. I called Continental and asked about a connection to Farowhich I would be using TAP... no issues there... anyone know why this happens ? Is it because TAP is foreign or does COnt want us to fly on them instead ?!?!? I was told by TAP to call back in a few days and was given a temp. confirmation no# to use when I call to see if I can get fromHartford to Newark via plane... anyone else ever experience this ?? Also checking out Aer LIngus from BOston , might be more doable and will call about the prices today.... thanks!

The only reason I can think of is that TAP isn't part of the alliance with CO?
Interesting that they will connect to Faro though.

We are booked using CO FF miles CLE via JFK to Dublin on Delta and returning on AirFrance LIS-CDG and then the direct flight home to CLE on CO.

We will probably fly Aer Lingus to LIS rather than Faro to avoid hefty car rental dropoff fees.

Isn't all this planning such fun:wall:?
