Found out that they are now charging $17 per day to park.

Does anyone know if one can find free street parking or a cheaper lot somewhere to park?

Any car rental locations closeby? I called the resort and they said no.

Thanks,

Joyce

Does that include tax and tips?

Do you really need a car? I get around Ft Lauderdale w/o one, esp. as most places up Los Olas also charge parking. Lots of cabs are always running around. Bus are only $1.25 plus the trolley is around also( some free, some $1). Plus the water taxi. And most day trip pickup free at the resorts. I got a taxis for $20 from the airport (for 2) and I was about 4 blocks further south than Beach Place. Plus, you have lots of nighttime and food places right there.

Just a thought,

We also didn't rent a car when we flew to BeachPlace - just no need for one. However, one year, we did a two-week trip - first week at BP, second week in HH, so we drove there in our own car. Of course, that was before they started charging exchangers for parking...

Can't find the source, but I read somewhere that Beachplace parking was going down to $14 a day from $17 because the manager of the garage has lowered his fees to $80 a week. This still makes BP higher, however.

The GM's letter this week to owners adds to the confusion by indicating that owners who exchange into BP still have to pay, while I thought it also was for owners who used a BP week he deposited in II to get another date's week in BP.
