I have had an exchange in since August for one of the Park City Marriott's in March with no luck. I am a Marriott owner (Vail inferior week).
Any suggestions on how to improve my odds?

If your trading in inferior Vail week you may not have the trade power to get a March week in Park City. What week are you using for the request and what size unit are you requesting?

How much inferior because you can't get much higher demand then a ski week in March (spring break) for skiing!

Seriously - next time request 14 months out with the highest demand week you can get at your home resort - and be willing to take a studio.

You're getting close to Flexchange now, so something might come through. I'd call II and ask them if there are many ahead of you on the list.

You did not indicate what room size you need...let me guess, you requested a 2 bedroom?

my suggestions

1. rent for cash on vrbo.com or redweek.com
2. sell your vail and buy at park city
3. hope for flexexchange - check multiple times per day
4. add summittwatch to your list
5. add park plaza to your list
6. request a 1 bedroom
7. request a studio

Feb-march are VERY difficult months to get if you are NOT an owner and 2 bedroom trades are EXTREMELY RARE.

It's also worth noting that there are a lot, ie over 100, of ski weeks for rent at Redweek for MountainSide and SummitWatch. Isn't this a lot more units than last year? Just about every ski week is listed, and I don't see a lot of rented signs.

My guess is that the rental prices are going to come down a lot, and/or that many of these units will show up in II as Flexchange deposits or just before.

Terry just saw a Summit Watch 2br for Jan 17(Sundance Film Festival starts 1/15). so the OP maybe in luck.

Plus all those Mountainside/Summit Watch units with no rental signs on Redweek might be deposited.

Just how inferior of a Vail week do you have? Is it size or time of year.

When I got my Starwood 2br Avon week, the deposited week was 15, which is the end of their "ski season" and boy it was a dog.
Traded like a mud week in May.

FWIW I talked to two different II reps in the past few days and both told me there was no way to tell where one is on the "list" in terms of exchanges. Has anyone been told something different??

There is no 'list' as everything is dependent on equal trade power/resort quality/Marriott preference, etc.

Funny we have not heard from OP about what week they are trying to use to get in....as we all know, that DEFINITELY makes a difference.
