I recently received an offer from PALACE VIEW RESORTS in Branson that they accepted my request to surrender and deedback my timeshare interval for a fee of $1600.00.
Is this a good offer? I really want to get rid of, haven't used it for 2 years.
If anyone has experience with deedback I value your response and recommendation.

I think you answered your own question! If you haven't used it, and have no plans to do so then why hold on to it?

Thanks, I got a call today from TUG2 that up front fees are common when dealing with the resort and that $1600.00 is reasonable.
So I'm going to accept!

The $1,600 may be there to cover a year or two or maintenance fees until they are able to find another buyer. Many of the big timeshare chains don't charge a fee at all, though DRI charges $1000 to do a deedback. There are certain costs involved with a deedback, but $1,600 seems kind of high. The important thing with this transaction is you know you are dealing with the resort (Spinnaker) directly and not some intermediary that says they are working with the resort. Did you initiate the contact where they made the offer or did they call you?

This is important. If the offer was in response to your inquiry and you are dealing directly with the Resort, even though $1,600 seems a touch high I'd take it for the certainty...

Thanks, I initiated the deedback by letter early 2019 and inquired about it again in January 2020 when I paid the maintenance fees.
Was quite surprised when I recently got their letter of deedback acceptance.
