I got a nice looking, full-color newsletter from Wyndham today that covers all the Pahio resorts. If anyone didn't get it, let me know, and I will scan it and put it up on my webpage. It introduces the staff from each resort and also discusses renovations at each resort.

It discusses the KBV pool - but no real time frame and it appears that they don't even have a contractor or permit yet:

New Pool Complex Update
The Shoreline Management Area (SMA) permit starts the process to obtain a building permit. PAHIO Development Inc. spearheaded this project without the need to to through the Planning Commission. The working drawings were completed in March and the bidding process has started. After awarding the bid to a contractor, the building permit process will begin. More details to come as progress continues.

Thank you for the update. Even though building hasn't started, I glad to know it is progressing. We plan on going there in the Fall of 2009. The pool should be completed by then.

Did the information you received give any details on the pool such as size etc?

We haven't received this newsletter yet, but I'll give it a couple of days.

Marty, last year I was told by Lani Kaui (KBV Manager) that the pool was supposed to be a "lazy river" style, with waterfall. It sounded really nice.

Times change, of course, and this IS Wyndham, after all. After that 14% mf increase, supposedly to pay for the pool, there's no telling what we'll end up with - probably an inflatable wading pool in the parking lot... LOL!

We were shown plans for the new pool a couple years ago. No lazy river was shown, but the waterfall and sand bottom entry were shown. It was suppose to take up part of the area where the little part of the lagoon is. They said it would resemble one of the BAli Hai pools. At that time they supposedly had the permits and were waiting for the contractor to finish the pool he was working on. Now we're back to no permits and no contractor. Seems like we're going backwards instead of forwards. I wouldn't count on the pool being done in the fall of 2009!

When I was at KBV a couple of weeks ago they gave me a memo dated Nov. 2007 stating that since Wyndham bought Pahio out the pool plans had been revised and it would be smaller - no design provided. It sounds like they started all over again when Wyndham came into the picture.

I will be very surprised if it was done by fall of 2009.

The current pool, restrooms, and area around it are a disgrace. My pool in my back yard is nicer!

Gee, Denise, with those great plants you just got, AND a pool, maybe you should open a timeshare at your house. LOL! :)

When we were at The Shearwater in June, we could see some of the projects listed being worked on at the resort.
