My girlfriend and I are traveling to Palm Springs in November (first week) and want to know what clothes to pack, i.e., we're assuming the weather is hot enough during the day even at that time of year to wear shorts and use the outdoor (heated) pools, etc., but that in the evening, being desert, it gets cool or even cold, so we should pack sweaters, etc.

Can someone who has traveled there in early November let us know what to expect?

P.S. I posted a similar message to this last night but can't find it -- maybe I experienced a computer glitch, but moderator, please do not delete this post (or if you move it, PM me where it's been sent).

The weather in November is usually warm enough to wear shorts all day (unless you go to the top of the tram in which case it can be quite chilly). You can probably get by with shorts in the evening too although once the sun sets behind the mountains, it cools off quickly. In the evening, a light jacket or sweater might be appropriate. Here's a site that shows the climate for each month:

Stylewise, think 'resort casual'. Weather and practicality wise, think in terms of lightweight for days and a layer for evenings. And if you plan to go up the tramway (recommended), bring an extra layer or two.
You're going to Palm Springs. The area has a reputation as a classy resort destination. You can dress up if you enjoy it, and you will never feel over dressed. Black tie is never out of place or overdressy in the evenings there. What would you wear if you were going out in your Rolls Royce or Bently?

I am not finding your previous post. Maybe something happened when you clicked on the Post button.
