Well, IDK if it counts as "snowbirding" as it's just 3 weeks, but I'm driving out of the snow tomorrow afternoon and heading south. Got basically 3 weeks lined up to try Sheraton Vistana Villages in Orlando, then HGVC McAlpin Plaza, then Vacation Village at Weston. Back home for Christmas. Will be mostly working remote, but will try and do some fun stuff on the weekends and after work, or in the afternoon and then finish up work later.

I plan on trying the advice here to hit the monorail to various Disney resorts main buildings for Christmas decorations photos. I also hope to get enough video and such for reviews sometime after I get back and can edit on my big computer. I'm excited for the first week - time for II Getaways to redeem themselves after Villa Roma! Also hope to meet up with some family and an friend of my sisters. First time I've driven to Orlando since 2000, but we did drive down to HHI and over to Destin in January, AND we're being lazy and burning an expiring free night on the way down from Hilton, so we'll do 2 hotels on the way.

It's also been since November last year when we were gone for ~ 3 weeks, so we'll see how this goes - kind of in prep for a March CA trip. Anyway, I'm hoping for 60s weather or warmer.

Most days have been in the low 80s lately. Though there was a bit of a cold snap this past weekend when it got into the 40s overnight and was very cool when going out first thing in the morning.

Vistana Villages is an Elite level resort, so you shouldn't have any issues there. WiFi is alway pretty good. My only suggestion is if they try to put you into one of the Bella phase buildings (Buildings 1 through 11) ask for a different phase. Those units are in terrible need of renovations.

Do you do this on check-in? It's just a getaway so I don't know that I can really ask for much lol.

You can call a day or so ahead and place a request. You can also ask for something different at check in. Nothing is guaranteed.

Good luck getting building 12 from my request, though the unit 305 is a bit musty. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the advice!
