Pablo Escobar's Hippos

Interesting story (the kind that Rich usually posts)...

Escobar had four "pet" hippos (kept illegally) on his Columbian estate. When he was shot in 1993 the hippos were left to fend for themselves. They have done remarkably well and there are now about 100 of them in the area. Obviously an invasive species, but their presence is not entirely bad.

I did find the first response to the article amusing: "WALMART has this problem they are in nearly every aisle blocking them and they will not move plus they also have learned to use CELL PHONES."
