My father in law is trying to give us his timeshare however there is a catch. When he bought the timeshare he included his girlfriend at the time as co-owner. She has since passed away.
Can he still give us the time share? It is a Welk property he bought in Branson Missouri.
Help!!!!

It will all depend on the timeshare. Is it deeded or RTU. If you can give us the name of it, more people can pitch in.

If it is deeded and they are tenants in common, it might be an easy deal.

I'm guessing it can be transferred, however a lot of legwork and paperwork needs to be done prior to it happening. Is the time and expense worth it? I guess it would depend on the value of the Timeshare.

Contact LT Transfers and they should be able to give you advice or assist you. Website below:

My Dad and I merged accounts, once upon a time, as part of his estate stuff. Relatively easy paperwork but cost us $$ to get it done. I think a transfer would be simple. My biggest concern would be the GFs name on the ownership.
Also, Welk is a points-ownership with the points residing in a property trust.

So doesn't this mean the Beneficiaries of the deceased girlfriend are part owners?

Depends how it was deeded. If joint tenants with right of survivorship probably just need to have an appropriate person do the paperwork and have a copy of the death certificate.
