Owner's Upgrade

If they are actively selling at that resort, sometimes. So choose carefully about where you'd want to buy and how much you want to spend. Harborside is sold out, for example, so that wouldn't work. And you can get to Orlando and Cancun any time.

I think the only way to know is to ask them directly.

I ttied asking at the atlantis a couple of years ago and they laughed and said no.

Never tried at sbp. I suppose if they are desperate enough to make a sale they might go for it.

Good luck

I was told yes you could do this (if the resort has availability), but you have to spend a minimum of $10,000 to do an upgrade.

So, they take the price of the upgrade you are interested in and the price of your TS and it has to be at least $10K difference.

Someone with more knowledge may chime in, but this is what I was told.

Also, I am not sure if they give you back the full price of what you paid for the TS originally (I think they do not---but cannot remember).

At Cancun over Christmas they offered to buy back either of my SVV units at purchased price (even my resale purchase that I got for $2000) if I spent 25k new dollars. Meaning that they would give me a 17,000 credit (that the original owner paid) on top of new money. Interestingly, they would not buy back my SDO resale. Only wanted Starwood built/owned TSs

Blue Ayes,
What season is your SDO? I was offered a similar deal in December, but they were making it on my SDO Platinum. They were going to let me trade/upgrade my resale 1 BD SDO Platinum to a WLM 2 BD Annual Platinum 148,100 SO week for $18,405. I decided against, because at the end of the day I could buy a resale WKV 2 BD Platinum week for less.
Thanks,

My SDO is the 81,000 variety. Week 1-52, not the better units.
