Anyone else get their postcard saying they will be in your area. I got one this week saying they will be in Stroudsburg, PA, Middletown, Spring Valley, Newburgh, Kingston & Monticello, NY on Feb 3/4.

This is what their website says:

Out of Timeshare is not a timeshare listing service or a timeshare resale agency. We do not charge a listing fee, advertising fee, or appraisal fee, and we do not waste your time waiting for a buyer who may never materialize. We do not sell timeshares; we transfer the property out of your name through a transfer company that has performed this service for thousands of timeshare owners every year since 1992.

Anyone familar with this company and what exactly they are all about?

Never heard of them, but I'd still be willing to place a healthy wager that it's just another "PostCard Company" in the aromatic genre of Timeshare Freedom, Time No More, We Collect Timeshares LLC, etc., etc. --- all of them being outfits kind and generous enough to "take your timeshare off your hands" (...IF you first pay them a few thousand dollars). They may or may not actually take the deed out of your name and thereby legally make you a "former" owner. Sound like anything you want to sign up for?

If you own any jogging shoes, lace 'em up --- then run like hell... ;)

My guess is that they charge a large "transfer" fee; the "transfer company" probably tacks on a fee too.

Yup, the transfer company is called Ebay!

You pay the postcard creeps $3,000. to "take your timeshare", they in turn sell it on ebay for whatever they can get for it, cause really, who cares, they paid nothing for it, and in fact, they made their money off you already.

They are most likely made up of 3 companies....

#1. The company you pay the thousands to take your timeshare.

#2. The company that sells the timeshare on ebay.

#3. The company that handles the closing.

Save your money, list it on ebay instead. Better yet, print out this thread and take it there, passing a copy out to everyone there. That would be fun. (well, at least for you)

They will tell you they are not 3 companies but just the one "taking the TS off your hands" buy it is IMHO a lie!! The 3 companies have a significant relationship with each other. None could exist without the other.

#1. The company you pay the thousands to take your timeshare. They couldn't take your TS unless they had someplace to get rid of it. They do EBay But they will lie and tell you some thing else.

#2. The company that sells the timeshare on ebay. They can't sell the TS for these prices unless they made their money somewhere else. How do you sell a TS for $1 if you pay Ebay $50 toward running the auction?

#3. The company that handles the closing. This company charges the ebay buyer an inflated fee to transfer the title, if the buyer was able to pick the title company they would choose one with better fees. They can't because the ebay seller want to hide the details of the transaction from the real buyer & seller.
