My husband and I are going to be takign a trip to Orlando within the next six months, the last time we were there we rented a car. I would prefer to skip that car rental since we had to pay to have it and then pay to park it and I think the buses might be easier. Are there TSW resorts that have the buses for free or a minimal cost to get to the Disney parks and possibly universal? I don't know which resorts are closest but I was told by a RCI rep last night that there are a few in the area. can anyone point me to the best resort that will be close and can have this transportation, free or paid?

Most resorts have some sort of transportation available either on a daily or set day schedule. If all else fails, Maeres trans will transport from resort to theme park.

The bus fees range from $1 to $3 + per person each way. It's really not the cost it's the darn inconvenience of being at someone else's mercy for going and coming. You are not the only one. What happens when you get to get in the bus, there are 2, 3, 4 or 5 in your party and there are enough seats on the bus for all of you but 1, 2 or 3 of you. Who goes and who stays?

Renting a car gives you the freedom to go as you please all be it you need to pay for parking at times.

With buses we will not even mention the waiting on a hot muggy day waiting for the bus to arrive and then be herded in like cattle and making 4, 5, 6 or more stops before getting to your place.

Rent a car, it's the way to go.

JMHO of course :D

the bus/shuttle at the timeshares I have seem - are charged $7.50 to $12.50 per day per person.... I would take them if only a $1 or 3....

the only one that has free transportation is DVC. It only trades with II not RCI.

I would definitely rent a car if you to stay in a timeshares.
