Does anyone have a recommendation between Marriott Grande Vista and Marriott Cypress Harbour in Orlando?
Or is there another resort that is better.
We will be Grandparents, Parents and a 6 and a 4 year old.
Thanks
Bill

We like Cypress Harbour the best over Grande Vista. We have called a week ahead and asked for certain buildings and always had good luck.

If traveling in the warm months (for swimming) with young kids, we like Marriott's Horizon's resort. It's directly across the street from Marriott's Cypress Harbour. Horizons has themed swimming pools like the Disney resorts - 2 themed zero entry pools with slides (pirate themed), mini water park play area, and miniature golf course. Horizons also has 2 queen beds in the second bedroom.

This may only be true if you are staying in a unit that does not lock off. If you are the building that has lock off units. the second bedroom may have a king and sofa.

Thanks. I keep forgetting about those new buildings with the end units that have the lock-offs. At least there aren't many of them, though.

If you'd like to try for a 3 bedroom, I wouldn't rule out Marriott's Imperial Palms (on the grounds of the Marriott World Center) or a three bedroom at Grande Vista.

We like Cypress Harbour the best. I think even with small children I would prefer it. I did not like Horizons at all. The only advantage I could see with Grande Vista is that they have 3 bedrooms and I think CH only has 2 bdrms.

I will not recommand Grande Vista.

We just came back last week. The resort is large and a good location, look great from outside.

But we had an awful experience there. We got roaches problem in our room. I understand that roaches can be common in Florida. I won't complain if just one or two. But they are so many. They are everywhere in the kichen and bathroom. We asked housekeeping to come and spray every night and it was still useless. I tried to use dish washer before I use any of those dishes. However, on the 4th night, I found them in the washer too, not very long after the machine's job is done. And I also found one in the refrigerator.

We asked for exchange for another room. But the dish washer didn't work well in the new unit. And we have spend extra time to pack and unpack our staff.

We talked to the people who stayed there. Some of they seems ok and didn't run into the bug problem. I guess it depends on your luck then.
