I was able to cancel my Seaworld reservation beginning this upcoming Saturday, October 12th by calling HGVC CS. All of my points were returned to my account. It did take 90 minutes waiting for CS rep. These were 2024 points that I will save into 2025, but that is a free transaction for Elite Premier members. I didn’t ask if the CS Rep would also due that for free (worth a try).

Thankful that HGVC does the right thing again.

Why were you not able to go? Just asking as I am not sure what makes it "the right thing" to do? Would the points have otherwise been restricted or not returned?

Milton.

Cheers.
But Milton has moved on and pretty much everything will be back up and running in and around Orlando by tomorrow. If it isn't mostly there already.

Correct. My daughter lives next to Marriott Cypress Harbour and there was no flooding and no power outages.

Yup. That's how things turned out. I'm glad HGVC was willing to make a gesture in advance before the reality of what might happen was determined. It could also have gone differently. Definitely prefer pre-planning to hindsight.

Cheers.

But I don't see where the OP indicated they cancelled prior to the storm. Perhaps I am under the wrong impression that the cancellation was made today? Did HGVC have a blanket cancellation policy for certain resorts ahead of the storm?

A bit an overreaction, IMHO.

Probably, but had to decide on this past Thursday morning. My son and family are the ones going on this trip. I was able to rebook them for Myrtle Beach. I was glad that HGVC was able to accommodate.
