Orlando area resort with older teens

I have 3 sons 18, 16, and 8 years old. We are thinking of going to Orlando sometime in April and I was wondering if anyone had input about a resort to stay at where my older 2 wont be bored to tears. Also my disabled mother may be tagging along and she cannot really do stairs. We don't plan on doing Disney so being close is not a factor. They all love Palm Aire in Pompano so I was thinking something that had similar activities/setup. All suggestions welcome.

I can't say for sure but I would think that Wyndham Bonnet Creek would have similar activities to Palm Aire.

They also have several (not sure of the number) pools and a lazy river.

I would think Bonnet Creek (lots of pools, activities, mini golf) or the Marriott Palms because they can use Marriott World Center pools.

Summer Bay or Orange Lake

Both of these have water parks on site. Shuttle busses to take teens around the resorts and to attractions. I would chose one of these! Have fun!

Haven't stayed there with my kids, but Wyndham Bonnett and Marriott Palms are always high on the lists for teens/kids.....

I have access to both RCI (weeks and points) and II. My OGS with RCI just matched for Vistana Resort 2 bedroom 6/6 but it was not on the list of suggestions in this thread. I have searched for reviews and it seems like a viable option. Any thoughts on Vistana Resort? Also, if there was another suggestion you had I'd be open. Does Vistana Resort have 2 bedroom LO? Just wondering because I see they have 6/6 units and 8/6 available for 2 bedroom.

They have 2BR and 1BR units but to my knowledge no lockoffs. The difference between the 8 and the 6 in the 2BR is the bed types in the second bedroom. Some units have two single beds so it sleeps 6. The others have two full/double beds so it "supposedly" sleeps 8. To me it still sleeps 6 unless that room is for kids. It is uncomfortable for two adults (or even teenagers) to sleep in a full/double bed.

My kids are all in their early to mid-twenties now and we have taken them to Orlando since they were very little. As they hit their teen years, the Universal parks definitely became their favorites. Where Disney is more oriented toward younger kids, Universal seems to cater more to the teen crowd more.

Universal has the better (i.e. more exciting) roller coasters. And the anchor rides in each of the Harry Potter areas might well be too extreme for younger kids. A good example of the difference between the target audience is during Halloween. Both Disney and Universal put on Halloween "evenings" in their parks. But Disney's is the "Not So Scary Halloween" which is designed to not scare under children. Universal's Halloween Horror nights is designed to try and scare you as much as possible. It is NOT for younger kids as they have people dressed up as scary as can be hiding and they will jump out to try and scare you.

With teen boys, you might check out the Universal parks.

Nastasha5687,we have been almost everwhere in orlando,as we live just a couple hours away.For what you are looking for with older teens,iwould highly recomend hilton grand vacation seaworld.Great resort,shuttle to seaworld,rollercoasters,and huge aquatica water park across the street.It is rci only and your teens will love it.
