Orange lake Desert club

Anybody else talk to Orange lake about converting over to Holiday inn vacation club.
One of my concerns is that I presently have a float week, with RCI points attached to it. If I resell down the road I feel this has value. However if I join HIVC and I resell down the road I will have lost this and it will convert back to its original deeded week for inventory purposes.
Maybe this doesn’t matter anyways because if I sell desert club RCI point timeshare down the road it will also convert back to its original deeded week with orange lake? Could orange lake override this float week point membership in the re-sell? I am hopping to get some of your opinions on the matter?
thanks in advance,

Because of a recent acquisition I now own a RCI point timeshare that is part of orange lake. I was recently contacted to join Holiday inn vacation club.
It is my understanding that with Orange Lake if we sell our timeshare it will revert back to original deeded week. And the HI points are lost.
Anybody care to share their opinion on what might happen if I kept my float week with RCI points attached to it. If I decide to sell it down the road could the new buyer keep the same thing that I presently have? Or would orange lake convert it back to its original deeded week. Could orange lake decide down the not to support RCI points anymore?
Thanks in advance,

With Summer Bay managing the resort, I bought a 1 bedroom week deed which had been converted to RCI points. With the new resort the 1 bdrm was converted to a 2 bdrm and the associated RCI points went up with it.

There was a balance of over 100K RCI points which were transferred over to me with the purchase of the week. This of course was a resale purchase.

While I don't know what the ties with Orange Lake are, I'd be surprised & a bit angered if they have any say that would prevent a similar type of transfer down the road.

I can't speak to the HIVC as I don't know the details. I do own weeks units at the Desert Club and was aproached by Summer Bay to join their "Crown Club" and it was above the $10K mark and definatly wasn't something I saw any value in with my travel habits. I believe the HIVC is a very similar program?
as for selling your RCI points week down road, it only reverts back to the base week if the new owner doesnt continue the points account. if they want to keep it in points I believe they just have to join RCI and transfer the points account.
as for the resale value down the road... I wouldn't loose a lot of sleep over that. yeah the points/ maint fee ratio at the Desert Club is pretty good, But... I haven't seen a big spread in the resale values between weeks and points units. at this point in time they can both be had for little or nothing:(
