How is this section? Just 2 adults - not worried about being near a pool or the river. Just want nice, clean unit. Is this the original section of Orange Lake. TIA

I wouldn't risk it

The unit was nice, has it's own zero entry pool and hot tub. The ONLY problem, and it was a big one for me, is that there is a HORRIBLE sewer smell if the wind blows a certain direction. Apparently, this happens about 15% of the time. Unfortunately, it happened almost the entire week we were there...we couldn't go outside AT ALL. My four year-old refers to it as, "the stinky place".

If we drove to any of the other villages it was fine.

We were at OLCC, East Village in May and loved it. Never smelled anything offensive. The units were in a high rise - 8 floors, I think. It was very clean, very spacious, and we had everything we needed. We took my daughter, her husband and 2 children. We were delighted that there was a swimming pool right on the side of our building. If we, or should I say, when we go back again we would definitely ask for the East Village. I don't think you could go wrong. The balcony's were screened in and we could see fireworks every evening from there. It was wonderful.

This is not the original section of OLCC........West Village is the first and oldest section.

My wife, myself and 2 kids(1 & 10) stayed in the East Village last November. Very spacious and clean units. Left with a very favorable feeling towards OLCC in general. Bit dissapointed can't trade in for another 4 years, it is a very cheap trade.

I own in the east village and have also been there many many times, I have never smelled this oder some people have spoke about, I have to have been to the east village 15 weeks without ever smelling this. I also have to say next to the RiverIsland units I feel the E.Village has he nicest rooms and only because RI rooms were just built. You will have a great time, enjoy!

Believe me...I wish that I hadn't smelled it. The wind has to be blowing the right way.

Holly, I believe you but I have stayed in the East Village several times as well and I have never smelled the Disney operations (sewage). I have been told by OLCC sales people that when it happens, it is very strong but as pointed out, it doesn't seem to happen a lot and it seems to be only in the East Village area. I've been told that OLCC has complained to Disney several times but I don't know how far beyond this it has been taken.

While the East Village is my least favorite section (I don't like multi-story building but if I do have multi-story buildings, I want them in the center of a lot of activities) as I prefer River Island and the original West Village (I like single story units), I have no problems staying there. While nobody can guarantee that you will be happy in any location, I don't think that you would be disappointed if you know what you are getting/ The units are what is shown on OLCC webpage so there should be no surprise when you see the units. The units that I have stayed at have always been clean and the East Village has been in my experience, very quiet.

Enjoy your vacation.
