I'm not sure how DH & I ended up on the mailing list for really high-end timeshares. We got a fun one today for Capella Residences, Casonas & Yacht Club at Cabo...looks lovely...I'm sure it will be worth the $375K buy-in price  to someone who has that kind of $ to toss around (not me!!) Can't imagine what the maintenance fees will be to maintain the "fleet of eight sixty-one foot, luxury Viking yachts"

Guessing from the number of solicitations we've been receiving for these very-high-end ts, their popularity must be on the rise.

Anyone own at any of these? Or have any comment?

Fun to window shop...

Gives you a peek into how the other half lives, and exactly how much disposable income they have for vacation.

I have a quarter share, but not really high end

My sister and I split the cost of a 1/4 share at Purgatory Mountain resort. That means we have 13 weeks per year on a rotating basis. It is RCI affiliated so we often deposit weeks. It has worked out very well. Incidentally, our cost was only 5% of $375,000. There are some very pricey fractionals out there, especially at ski resorts.

IMHO you are better off purchasing full ownership as opposed to a fractional for many reasons but primarily for resale as fractionals will not appreciate the same way as real estate and may be much more difficult to sell down the road.

FYI - the mf's on fractionals and full ownership are typically a fair bit lower than the mf's on TS weeks.
