Dilemma time and seeking the expert advice from everyone.

I currently have a 2LO booked at Harborside at Atlantis for Thanksgiving week using 95,700 restricted SO from this year. I called Atlantis reservations (the hotel) and they stayed they are going to open 11/4. It’s a chance to take. I can keep it and hope they open, hope everything is open, and hope the vacation in place isn’t too bad.

OR use a 2021 SVV one bedroom and exchange in interval for MSU 2LO. What to do what to do? Keep the restricted SO reservation or exchange with a 2021 unit in II.

what would you do?

I have kids and am stuck with a school calendar. You’re much more flexible with respect to ability to book reservations and take advantage of last-minute deals (at least that is my impression).

If it was me, I would burn the restricted options, since I’m not sure how easily I could book something with 4 months notice.

If I were more flexible and could travel off-peak, I would probably do the exchange and see if I could pick up some last minute escapes with Vistana.

That’s what I’ve been thinking about, availability at 4 months time. On top of previous banked and next years options, 2021 will be full. I also am bringing my mother who has been wanting a vacation badly and rather than spend the holiday in a house full of people I’m putting her on a beach with hopefully no one around.

Here is my pickle of the day. If I do a vacation exchange through interval I don’t know how long it takes for interval to take it out of the vistana system.

At midnight tonight I want to make a star option booking and am hoping it works out, but I’ll need to use Options from one of my bedrooms and interval doesn’t differentiate. I could have vistana deposit the unit into interval but not sure how long that takes to show up in interval system
