We had a fabulous meal (and a terrific Key Lime Martini!) at the Okechobee Steak House. It's about a 15 - 20 min. drive - the concierge can make reservations for you and give you directions. BTW, I had stuffed shrimp, not a big steak eater.

We will also be going down for 5 nights at the end of August, I am also interested in ideas. Three adults in the party. Going on an II exchange. Found it much cheaper to give up the two nights than to try and rent through Marriott for only the five nights.

For waterfront dining, we liked both Jetty's and The Crab House. They are actually right next to each other, about 20 minutes away in Jupiter. Jetty's is a little more upscale, more of a fine dining establishment. Food at both was very good. We also enjoyed the Waterway Cafe, although, for the cost, I didn't think the food was as good as the other two.

For a really fun place to just hang out and good drinks and bar food, try Duffy's Sports Bar. There are a few of them, but the closest is probably the one on A1A, right by the Publix that is on the back way in to Singer Island (by MacArthur State Park).

We have also, in years past, eaten at Ruth Chris Steak House (excellent, but very expensive), and Barrymore's, also a steakhouse (very good food, expensive, but they had summer specials when we went).

When we were there in March, I also found the concierge to be very helpful with pricing and such, not at all offended by my wanting to stay within a certain budget, even calling and asking prices for a place that they didn't have them for. Sorry, I don't remember her name. :(

For a casual lunch or dinner go to Too-Jay's deli (NY Style)
My friends and I also liked ThaiCoon

i would have to second the motion on jetty's restaurant up in jupiter. they have early bird specials if you get there before 5:30pm. there is usually a wait as many people are there early. (double check on that time, however, it might be 5pm??) you can eat inside or on their beautiful porch. i agree with the poster about duffy's also, casual and very good food.
hope you have a wonderful time down there. wish i were going!!

We also enjoy Jetty's and The Crab House. The Crab House has more outdor seating than Jetty's but Jetty's has a little more upscale feeling to it.

For lunch I find Panama Hatties or the Waterway Cafe a nice atmosphere, OK food but feel they're both a little pricey. There are several here that don't feel the quality is worth the price. We've only eaten lunch at either place. My wife does not find anything on the Waterway Cafe's menu that she likes (picky eater) so we always end up at Panama Hatties.

The Sailfish Marina restaurant is very nice as well. Moderately priced. I've never been overly fond of this restaurant for dinner but do enjoy breakfast and the occasional lunch there.

The Breakers over on Palm Beach Island has some very upscale and expensive restaurants. All we've ever gone for is a drink at the Seafood bar. The bar itself is a salt water aquarium and it provides a nice view of the ocean. Breakers has a mandatory 20% tip added to the bill. I guess rich people don't often tip well or at all.

City Place is a shopping district that has several nice moderate to upscale restaurants. We generally head over to the Cheesecake Factory for at least one meal but there are several other nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Bellagio is a nice Italian restaurant as well.

Clematis St. has several restaurants and clubs that I find interesting. We've eaten there a couple of times but the only place that sticks out in my mind has been two girls pizza. I'm certain you could find something a little more elegant for dinner than a NY style pizza restaurant.
