That's not a copywriter mistake, that's a proofreader mistake. Also possibly a marketing person mistake, bc the marketing person probably supplied the corporate info that had to go on the box.

Very possible. Whois shows that the domain has been taken since 1994, so it is not a case of domain camping.

The movie company probably thought that they could buy out the domain and relaunch it, but surprise! the owner of the domain saw profits ahead and didn't want to sell.

Regarding the thread title, I'm not sure paying someone more would prevent the mistake. Paying people more doesn't make them immediately better at their jobs. It might help to attract or retain better employees (but also not so great employees) over time so that in the long term work product *might* improve, but even people who are paid more because they're supposed to be good something do make mistakes sometimes.

Isn't this made and packaged in China?
Perhaps the 'mistake' was made on that end.
Kind of a 'tell' on Mattel's QC ... well the manufacturer in China promised the product was to spec!

What if it wasn't a mistake? Suppose someone did it slyly, and it went through the rest of the way uncaught? Not unlike imagery that hasbeen inserted into various Disney children's films.

If you've ever had anything printed, including a business card or a menu, you know that the client receives a proof of the material and the client must approve it, in writing, before the printing begins. There is no way that "China" can be responsible for this.

You have worked with suppliers in China? At how many levels of subcontracting was that printing? Lots of 'plausible deniability' possible.

my guess is this was mistake, not intentional act.. Whenever we sent things for printing, we sent the files all setup for the printer. I would not expect them to alter the file by tweaking the URL.

I used to go to a conference at the Hilton Universal Studios, right next to Universal HQ. If i recall correctly i could often see the bright neon sign for Wicked Studios right across the freeway from them..
