I would like to put in an ongoing request, but the system won't let me just put in one week. I can only go one particular week. I can put in quite a few resorts. Is there any way that I can only request that one week?

I've added an event week to the request, knowing that that request won't get matched. I've also added a request for 2 years hence, knowing that, that too, will not be matched before my desired request. Hope this helps...

You need a minimum of 3 options, but they can be weeks or resorts. Select 3 different resorts for that week, and it should go through.
The other way around, if you just really want one resort for a specific week, is to fill in the other 2 spots with impossible exchanges i.e. a really high demand time at a resort that won't get deposited or a resort that doesn't deposit that size of unit (there are many that are now splitting 2 BR lockoffs and only deposit the 1 BR's).

I think if you call they can modify it for you. I made a deposit and asked for one resort and one date and they put it in for me that way.

Is the OP using II or RCI or something else?

This answer sounds like it may be correct for II.

With your Marriott ownership, a single resort, single week is allowed.
I am not certain of Hyatt.
With most other ownerships, II requires a combination of 3 weeks / resorts.
e.g.
2 resort codes, 2 week range
3 resort codes, 1 week
1 resort code, 3 week range
Some resorts have 2 codes in II and that counts as 2 right there, even though it's a single resort.

You can also use unicorn resorts with dates such as
Christmas / New Years
at
Westin St. John WSJ
Hyatt Sunset Harbor HSH
The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian VDD
